Training Program Enhances Ukrainian Municipalities’ Capacity for Economic Recovery

The Second Comprehensive Training Program, dedicated to strengthening the capacity of municipalities and local project teams, took place with a two-day training session for representatives from 12 target municipalities on February 20-21, 2025.

The Second Comprehensive Training Program is implemented by the Association of Ukrainian Cities within the framework of the project “Support for Rapid Economic Recovery of Ukrainian Municipalities” (SRER), which is funded by the German government and implemented by GIZ Ukraine in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine UNDP Ukraine / UNDP in Ukraine.

Representatives from 12 communities participated in the training:

Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Zvyagel, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lozova, Lutsk, Rivne, Stryi, Smila, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi, and Chernihiv.

Among the speakers at the event were:

Natalia Boyko, an expert on local self-government, Executive Director of the Luhansk Regional Branch of the AUC,

Volodymyr Myagkokhod, an expert on local self-government, an expert on the organizational principles of local self-government of the Association of Ukrainian Cities,

Moskalenko Svitlana, an expert on local self-government, Head of the Department of Training Methodology and Scientific Research at the Higher School of Public Administration,

Iya Degtyaryova, an expert on local self-government, professor of the Department of Public Administration and Project Management, SHEI “University of Management of Education” of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine,

Tetyana Melnyk, moderator of the event, an expert on the implementation of the training program on capacity building (CBP), an expert on the restoration of municipal infrastructure of the Association of Ukrainian Cities,

Oksana Prodan, Advisor to the Head of the Association of Ukrainian Cities.
