ЄДНАННЯ СЕРДЕЦЬ: A Day of Prayer for Ukraine’s Future

The recent National Day of Prayer united the community in a shared aspiration: a peaceful future for Ukraine. This event transcended mere spiritual communion; it was a heartfelt gathering of souls and spirits, collectively petitioning the Lord to end the war, to safeguard the lives of the valiant soldiers defending our community and the entirety of Ukraine, and to facilitate the safe return of those missing in action to their homes.

The public assembly on the Alley of Glory, commemorating the third anniversary of the Russo-Ukrainian war and the National Day of Prayer, drew a significant number of residents from Obertintsy and neighboring villages. Each attendee carried a burden of sorrow, tears, and a profound sadness in their eyes, a wound etched upon their hearts. For war signifies suffering, shattered destinies, and broken hopes… It represents the thirty-one Hero-Angels of our community. It embodies the seventeen soldiers missing in action, whose parents, spouses, and children await their return with unwavering hope and faith.

Lit candles placed near memorial banners, from which the kind, smiling faces of those who will forever remain in our memories gaze upon us. The rhythmic beating of hearts in unison with the moving song “Plyne Kacha…” A memorial service for the fallen defenders. The spiritual hymn “Bozhe, Velykyi, Yedyny…” as the most fervent plea of all Ukrainians, directed towards the Almighty…

The cost of freedom is immeasurable!

But together, in prayer, we are strong!

Together with God, we are invincible!

Glory to Ukraine!

Glory to the Heroes!
