In Memoriam: Hero-Defender Vasyl Lavrentiev.

The hero-defender, Vasyl Lavrentiev, returns home on his shield. A Senior Soldier, he was faithful to his military oath and the Ukrainian people until his last moment, defending the land from the invader. He died from wounds on February 13, 2025, while performing a combat mission in the Pokrovsky district of the Donetsk region.

Tomorrow, February 22, we will say goodbye to the Warrior. A citywide farewell will take place at the House of Officers from 10:15 to 11:15. The Hero will be buried in the village of Zalissya 1, where his mother lives.

A Day of Mourning has been declared in the community. I urge all conscious citizens to limit entertainment and come to pay their last respects to the Defender. It is the duty of everyone to share the pain of loss with the Hero’s family and friends.

I sincerely sympathize with the relatives and friends who have suffered this loss.
