🎖️ On the third anniversary of the full-scale invasion, the city of Mykolaiv awarded the “For the Defense of Mykolaiv” honors.

On February 24, in Mykolaiv, on the third anniversary of the full-scale invasion by the Russian aggressor on the territory of Ukraine, the awards “For the Defense of Mykolaiv” were presented. From the first days of the brutal invasion, our city came under attack. Then Mykolaiv stood firm and became a strong fortress in the south of Ukraine.

🤝 To recognize those who bravely stood up to defend our city from the first days, the Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych initiated a special award “For the Defense of Mykolaiv.” It has two degrees: the first is for defenders who took up arms to defend our city, and the second is for volunteers and Mykolaiv residents who helped the military and citizens without weapons.

The awards were presented by the First Deputy Mayor Vitaliy Lukov and the Secretary of the City Council Dmytro Falko.

💬 “Today we are marking a sad date. We have gathered here to honor your contribution to the defense of our state, city, and region. It is already the third year of war, fighting, deaths, destruction, and divided families. Today, all we can do is live on, work, and do everything to make our victory come as soon as possible. I thank everyone who is present here,” said Dmytro Falko.

Dmytro Falko proposed a minute of silence to honor the memory of all those who died during the full-scale invasion.

💬 “Today I have the honor of conveying greetings from the mayor and the community of the city. Being with you in the same room is invaluable. We do not know what would have happened to our country if the people had not united. After victory, we will still need to rebuild our country, but we will all succeed, I am convinced of this. Thank you!” – Vitaliy Lukov addressed those present.

On this day, the honorary awards “For the Defense of Mykolaiv” were received by the military and volunteers. Also, for constant charitable assistance to the city and the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Mykolaiv Regional Clinical Hospital of War Veterans and the staff of the Mykolaiv Zoo received awards. This event highlights the resilience and unity of Mykolaiv in the face of adversity, recognizing the contributions of both military personnel and civilians in defending the city. The “For the Defense of Mykolaiv” awards serve as a symbol of gratitude and remembrance, honoring the bravery and selflessness displayed during a challenging time.
