Odesa Under Attack: Energy Infrastructure Targeted Again

Rescue operations are currently underway in Odesa following yet another Russian strike targeting the city’s critical energy infrastructure. For almost three years, the Russian army has relentlessly deployed missiles and attack drones against civilian energy facilities, causing widespread damage and hardship. Зараз в Одесі тривають рятувальні роботи після чергового російського удару по енергетичній інфраструктурі. Саме по цивільних енергетичних об’єктах, проти яких російська армія вже майже три роки не шкодує ані ракет, ані ударних дронів.

Якраз учора, після сумнозвісної зустрічі в Ер-Ріяді, стало відомо, що російські представники вкотре брехали про те, що вони нібито не завдають ударів по енергетиці. Майже в той самий час – такий удар, ударні дрони проти електротрансформаторів. І це взимку, мінус 6 градусів за Цельсієм було вночі.

Зараз щонайменше 160 тисяч одеситів без тепла та електропостачання. Без опалення й світла залишилися 13 шкіл, дитячий садочок, кілька лікарень. Працюють ремонтні бригади, усі комунальні служби задіяні. Я вдячний кожному рятувальнику, усім, хто допомагає людям.

Маємо пам’ятати, що Росією керують патологічні брехуни, і їм не можна довіряти – на них треба тиснути заради миру.

Rescue operations are currently underway in Odesa following another Russian strike on the city’s energy infrastructure. Once again, civilian energy facilities have been targeted – for nearly three years now, the Russian army has relentlessly used missiles and attack drones against them.

Just yesterday, after the notorious meeting in Riyadh, it became clear that Russian representatives were once again lying, claiming they do not target Ukraine’s energy sector. Yet, almost simultaneously, they launched another attack, with drones striking electrical transformers. And this is during winter – it was minus 6 degrees Celsius at night.

At least 160,000 Odesa residents are now without heat and electricity. Thirteen schools, a kindergarten, and several hospitals have also been left without power or heating. Repair crews are working tirelessly, and all municipal services are engaged. I am grateful to every rescuer and to everyone helping people.

We must never forget that Russia is ruled by pathological liars – they cannot be trusted and must be pressured. For the sake of peace.
