At the end of January in Ternopil, 42 servicemen were posthumously awarded the Order “For Courage” II and III degree, among them our compatriot Kurnitsky Vasily Igorevich.

Vasily Kurnitsky was born on September 29, 1976, in the city of Kopychyntsi. He joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend his homeland. Thanks to his bravery, courage, and true patriotism, he became a role model for other defenders of the Fatherland. On July 14, 2023, he died while performing a combat mission near the settlement of Staromayorske in the Donetsk region.

In 2023, he was also awarded (posthumously) an honorary badge of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine “Best Sergeant (Starshina) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine”.

Our brave and courageous warriors are an example of strength, courage, and unwavering will. The memory of them will forever remain in the hearts of all of us.
