Toponymic Commission Reviews Renaming Proposals in Berestyn
On Friday, February 14th, the toponymic commission held a meeting to review the results of public discussions regarding the renaming of a number of objects in the community.
🔹 Myru Street in the village of Khrestyshche – a proposal to rename it to Oleksandr Titov Street was discussed. Residents did not support the change of name: 55 (out of 64 respondents) supported keeping the current name.
🔹 Youth Square in the city of Berestyn – the issue of assigning it the name of Hero of Ukraine Denys Shevchenko was considered. The commission decided to leave the name of the square unchanged, and to assign the name of the Hero to the Alley located in this square.
🔹 Bohdan Khmelnytsky Lane in the village of Pishchanka – the issue of renaming was considered in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On Geographical Names”, residents proposed the name Bohdanivskyi.
🔹 Renaming of the Zaliniinyi Lane in the city of Berestyn – public discussions were announced.
The toponymic commission continues its work on the issues of naming and renaming streets and objects of the community, taking into account the opinion of residents and legislative requirements. The commission’s decisions reflect the will of the people and adhere to legal standards.
