Shostka Honors Heavenly Hundred: Day of Remembrance Ceremony
Today, February 20th, a ceremony was held to honor the memory of the fallen heroes. The participants, including representatives from the local administration and the public, gathered to pay tribute to those who gave their lives for Ukraine. This event marked a poignant moment of reflection and respect.
The ceremony started with a moment of silence, a gesture that reflected the community’s deep respect for the fallen heroes. Following the moment of silence, participants laid flowers at the memorial. This act symbolized not only remembrance but also the enduring appreciation for those who have defended Ukraine’s freedom and independence.
Among those present were Mayor Mykola Noga and Deputy Mayor Marina Kharlamova. Their presence underscored the importance of the event and the official recognition of the day. Marina Kharlamova stated: “Today is the Day of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes. Citizens came to pay their respects and thank our defenders who, since 2014, have been protecting our Ukraine.”
This day is dedicated to the Heavenly Hundred, a group of individuals who lost their lives during the Revolution of Dignity. The annual commemoration serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made for the nation’s freedom and democratic aspirations. It highlights the values of courage, resilience, and unwavering dedication to the ideals of liberty and self-determination.
