Diia Launches Online Services for Ukrainian Veterans & Families
🚀 Great news! More services for veterans and families of fallen heroes are now available in Diia!
The Ministry of Veterans Affairs, in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Transformation, is launching two new services. Now, obtaining the status of a person with a disability resulting from the war (OIVV) or a family member of a deceased Defender (ChSZ) can be done online through Diia – no queues, paperwork, or unnecessary visits to government institutions.
🔹What’s changing?
Previously, to obtain the status, it was necessary to personally visit government agencies, but now everything can be done in a few clicks via the Diia portal. This streamlines the process and makes it significantly more convenient for veterans and families.
🔹How to apply for OIVV status?
▪ Have a certificate of participation in combat operations
▪ Document on disability from the MSEK or an expert team for assessing a person’s daily functioning (EKOPO)
🔹Who can apply for ChSZ status?
▪ Parents, spouse/partner, or children of the deceased Defender
🔹How does the new system work?

👉🏻 Receive notifications about the decision – without unnecessary bureaucracy
However, if it is more convenient for you to apply offline, this can be done at the nearest Administrative Service Center (ASC).
💡 Services are implemented by the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine jointly with the Ministry of Veterans Affairs with the support of the “Diia Support Project”, which is implemented by UNDP Ukraine / UNDP in Ukraine with funding from Sweden. This collaborative effort highlights the commitment to providing accessible services.

How to Apply for OIVV Status
To apply for the OIVV status, applicants need:
- A certificate confirming participation in combat operations.
- A document indicating disability, issued by the Medical and Social Expert Commission (MSEK) or an expert team for assessing a person’s daily functioning (EKOPO).
Who Can Apply for ChSZ Status?
Family members eligible to apply for ChSZ status include:
- Parents of the deceased Defender
- Spouse/Partner of the deceased Defender
- Children of the deceased Defender
How the New Online System Works
The online application process is straightforward and user-friendly:
- Visit the Diia portal and submit an application online.
- Monitor the status of your application in your personal account.
- Receive notifications about the decision regarding your application, eliminating the need for dealing with bureaucratic red tape.
For those who prefer the traditional method, the option to apply offline at the nearest Administrative Service Center (ASC) remains available.
