The program for compensating for destroyed housing for internally displaced persons (IDPs), whose homes have been destroyed as a result of hostilities, will begin soon.
The Ministry of Communities and Territories Development has received the first tranche of 4.3 billion hryvnias out of the planned 15 billion for internally displaced persons whose housing has been destroyed as a result of hostilities. In total, almost 10,000 families will be able to purchase their own homes in any settlement in Ukraine.
Compensation can be received by individuals with IDP status whose destroyed housing was their only real estate. It must be located in the territory controlled by Ukraine or in the zone of hostilities.
What to do depending on your situation:
If you have IDP status but do not have a housing certificate:
- Register a notification of destroyed property through the Diia application or portal.
- Submit an application in the Diia application for compensation for destroyed housing.
- Wait for the commission’s decision and receive a certificate.
If you have a certificate but have not booked funds:
- Apply for a reservation through Diia or contact the Administrative Services Center.
- Within 5 working days you will receive confirmation of the availability of funds.
- Within 30 days from the moment of confirmation of the reservation, terminate the ownership of the destroyed housing, find the desired one and conclude a purchase and sale agreement with a notary.
