Мир – це спільне завдання! Важливість миру не обмежується лише політиками на національному рівні. Ключову роль у досягненні миру відіграють лідери міст і громад, які здатні донести правду до кожного мешканця. Підтримка політичних ініціатив, спрямованих на мир, має бути забезпечена на рівні місцевого самоврядування. Міста та громади повинні об’єднати зусилля для взаємної підтримки на шляху до миру. Про це йшлося під час моєї участі у відкритті ІІІ Міжнародного саміту міст і регіонів.

Підтримуйте всі зусилля, спрямовані на справедливий тиск на Росію. Дипломатичні, політичні та економічні важелі мають бути використані для досягнення миру.

Рішучість потрібна на кожному рівні. Чим більше міст і громад висловлюватимуть свою позицію щодо необхідності миру, тим краще. Важливо, щоб ніхто ніколи не наважився повторити злочини, які росіяни чинять проти України, і щоб Росія була змушена шукати мир.

Прошу вашої допомоги не лише у забезпеченні стійкості, але й у політичній роботі заради миру. Це надзвичайно важливо. Разом ми зможемо досягти миру!

Peace is a task not only for national-level politicians. We need the truth that mayors and community leaders can convey to their people. We need political work for peace to be supported at the level of local self-government as well. We need cities and communities to be able to support one another. Support all efforts aimed at exerting entirely justified pressure on Russia – support diplomatic efforts, political and economic pressure.

We need resolve at all levels, and the more cities and communities speak out about this, the better. Resolve so that no one ever again dares to repeat what the Russians are doing to Ukraine, and so that the Russians are forced to seek peace.
