We spent a great deal of time and effort to ensure that these seven children could finally come home. The team of the Ombudsman\u2019s Office worked daily on every detail: securing financial resources, organizing logistics, providing legal assistance, and monitoring every step around the clock.\n\nAnd now, boys and girls aged 8 to 16 have reunited with their families. One of them will soon celebrate his 17th birthday at home with his loved ones!\n\nEach child has gone through a difficult and painful way that no child in the world should ever endure.\n\n\ud83d\udcccA boy from the Kherson region was supposed to stay with his grandmother \u201cfor a few weeks,\u201d but ended up spending years in the temporarily occupied territory. The occupation \u201cauthorities\u201d had already prepared documents to send him to an orphanage, but thanks to our efforts, he was returned to his mother.\n\n\ud83d\udcccTwo twin brothers have reunited with their aunt. Their mother died in Russia, where the boys had been forced to stay because of the war. After her death, the children were taken to a Russian orphanage. Now they are back home with their relatives.\n\n\ud83d\udcccAlso back on Ukrainian soil is a boy who left for Europe with his father but ended up in Russia with relatives. And a girl from the Kharkiv region, who survived injury, the loss of her father, and the threat of being \u201cadopted\u201d into a Russian family.\n\nOur task is not only to return a child home, but also to provide continued support. The Ombudsman\u2019s Office accompanies the reintegration process: we assist with adaptation after the traumatic experiences, coordinate psychological and social support, and ensure that every young Ukrainian can safely return to normal life.\n\nBecause every child has their own difficult story.
