Повернення захисників додому!

Відбувся дев’ятий етап повернення захисників за “Стамбульськими угодами” — додому повернулися тяжкопоранені та тяжкохворі захисники. Також звільнено групу військових відповідно до встановленого механізму переговорних груп. Вже понад 1000 захисників повернулись додому!

Сьогодні на Бахмутчині воїни ЗСУ, зокрема Сил Тероборони, морської піхоти, мотопіхотних та механізованих бригад, НГУ, ДПСУ повернулися додому. Серед повернутих є захисники з Донеччини, зокрема Маріуполя, Сумщини та Харківщини. Вдома і ті воїни, які потрапили в полон у перші місяці повномасштабного вторгнення. Деякі з повернутих захисників вважалися зниклими безвісти та перебували в розшуку.

Найстаршому зі звільнених – 66 років, наймолодшому – 27 років. Троє з повернутих захисників завтра святкуватимуть день народження на рідній землі.

За дорученням Президента України над поверненням оборонців працювали українські державні органи, що входять до складу Координаційного штабу з питань поводження з військовополоненими.

На місці обміну незмінно перебувають працівники Офісу Омбудсмана. Вони фіксують дотримання норм МГП, зокрема Женевської конвенції про поводження з військовополоненими. Також наші співробітники спілкуються з повернутими, інформуючи їх про права надалі. Адже їм знадобиться реабілітація, поновлення документів та банківських карток.

Акцентую: Україна працює над поверненням своїх громадян із ворожого полону!

Вітаю тих оборонців, які в цей липневий день мають змогу побачити рідне небо! Слава Україні! Слава нашим Героям і Героїням!

Our defenders are returning home!

The ninth stage of the return of defenders under the Istanbul agreements has been completed — severely wounded and seriously ill defenders are now at home. A group of military personnel has also been released in accordance with the established mechanism of the negotiating groups. There are already more than 1,000 defenders back in their homeland!

Today, soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including the Territorial Defence Forces, the Marine Corps, motorised infantry and mechanised brigades, the National Guard of Ukraine, and the State Border Guard Service are back in their homeland. Among those returned are defenders from Donetsk region, including Mariupol, Sumy and Kharkiv regions. Those soldiers who were captured in the first months of the full-scale invasion are also at home. Several of the returned defenders were considered missing and were being searched for.

The oldest released is 66 years old, the youngest is 27 years old. Three of the returned defenders will celebrate their birthdays tomorrow on their native land.

On the instructions of the President of Ukraine, Ukrainian state bodies that are part of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War worked on the return of the defenders.

Employees of the Ombudsman’s Office are always present at the exchange site. They monitor compliance with IHL standards, in particular the Geneva Convention on the Treatment of Prisoners of War. Our staff also communicate with those who have been returned, informing them of their rights going forward. After all, they will need to undergo rehabilitation and renew their documents and bank cards.

I would like to emphasise that Ukraine is working to return its citizens from enemy captivity!

I congratulate those defenders who, on this July day, have the opportunity to see their native sky! Glory to Ukraine! Glory to our heroes and heroines!
